New Delhi, 05/06/2023: Delhi HC on Monday denied the interim bail request of detained former deputy chief minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia.
The former minister, who has been detained for his alleged role in the State Excise policy case, was denied bail claiming that the charges against the leader are extremely serious and therefore need to be retained.
The HC, however, allowed the leader to visit his ailing wife on the condition that he would not interact with any media or make any statements. The bench of Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma directed that Manish Sisodia be taken to be residence or Hospital between 10 AM to 5 PM any one day. The Court added that permission is given for any day at the convenience of Sisodia’s wife.
The Court meanwhile directed Delhi Police to ensure that there is no media gathering where Sisodia goes to meet his wife either at residence or the Hospital. He is also prohibited from using his mobile phone or having access to the internet.
