Sambhal (March 7, 2025): In a move to maintain communal harmony, authorities have decided that Holi celebrations in Sambhal will take place until 2:30 PM on March 14, after which Muslims will offer Jumma namaz, a senior police official confirmed on Friday.

Considering the sensitivity of the region, seven companies of Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) have been deployed to ensure peace during the festival.

The announcement comes a day after a local circle officer (CO) sparked controversy by stating that Holi is an annual festival, whereas Jumma namaz is observed 52 times a year. He further remarked that those uncomfortable with Holi colors should stay indoors.

Authorities are now focusing on tight security arrangements to ensure that both communities can observe their respective religious practices without any disturbances.
