Hungarian Information and Cultural Centre invites you to the Finissage Ceremony of two International Artworks’ Exhibitions:
SPIRIT AND MATTER – THREE ARTISTS – THREE GENERATIONS by Ilona Lovas, Anna Makovecz and Villő Turcsány from Hungary, curated by Katalin Keserü organized by Anna Bagyó , and
– COCOS NUCIFERAS by MD Deleep Franco Swiss from France-Switzerland (as a collateral event with India Art Fair 2015)
opened on Tuesday, 27th January 2015 at 5 pm, at the lawns and gallery of the HICC, followed by a short performance by János Palojtay (piano) and Dávid Simon (flute).
The two exhibitions were inaugurated by H.E. Mr. Szilveszter Bus, Ambassador of Hungary, in the presence of H.E. Mr. François Richier, Ambassador of France. Anna Makovecz artist and Anna Bagyó organizer were also present at the opening.
ABOUT THE TWO EXHIBITIONS:
– Naturescape art and embroideries, metamorphosis of spirit+body+matter with video installations, musical thinking and harmonic balance
An exhibition-cum-performance, curated by art historian, writer and curator Katalin Keserü, organized by art consultant Anna Bagyó, with the participation of three Hungarian woman artists: Ilona Lovas, Anna Makovecz and Villő Turcsány. The three artists, representing three different generations, coexist well with each other. Their works examine the metamorphosis of matter, body and spirit. These evergreen topics of art are translated into the language of contemporary mediums and will be presented as installations, photos and videos.
– 3-tonne Coconut fallen from the sky, Mother of the Lingam, The Fair Hair … feature spiritual insights with various imageries of Coconut and Rangolis
The Artworks by MD Deleep (a Franco-Swiss artist) are an attempt to translate and share spiritual and ethnic emotions, sensations through these intermediaries. Thus, it is important that there exists barely any distance between the viewer and the work. With such participation, there is enough scope for the individuals to enter the specific work-scope and create new relationships between creation, creator and spectator. The artist’s aim is to work in interaction with the public, resulting in a timeless piece, which everyone can interpret in his/ her own way.
BIOGRAPHY OF THE ARTISTS:
– Ilona Lovas, Anna Makovecz and Villő Turcsány from Hungary
The exhibition of three Hungarian artists, representing three different generations:
Ilona Lovas’s works examine the metamorphosis of material, body and spirit. These evergreen topics of art are translated into the language of contemporary mediums such as installation, photo and video.
Anna Makovecz, The creation of her works is built on folk and popular art. The mediums, techniques (wall hangings, pillows, embroidery) refer the engagement of material/body and emotions; also reflect the ancient magic character of the art work (healing, incantation).
Villő Turcsány’s sensitive forms are concentrated on relationship of spiritual and material, the visualization of the essence of soul. The secrets of the intensity of her installations are the sculptural vision, musical thinking and the harmonic balance of these structures. (She will be present at the Finissage Ceremony)
