IAF corporal Mows Down by a Speeding vehicle in Jewar!

Greater Noida: On Thursday in a road mishap early in the morning, A 28-year-old Corporal of the Indian Air Force (IAF), Yogesh Sharma, died after he was mowed down by a speeding vehicle on Sabota Road of Greater Noida.
Police said they are yet to trace the vehicle and its driver. Sharma was on his morning walk when the incident took place, the police said.
Sharma, who was from Sabota village in Jewar, Greater Noida, was set to join his IAF division in Jammu in the next few days. He had come to his home town for vacation, the police said.
“The accident took place around 6am on Sabota Road in Jewar Kasba. The victim was mowed down by a speeding vehicle. Sharma was taking his morning walk in Sabota when the incident took place,” Rajpal Singh Tomar, station house officer, Jewar police station, said.A passerby informed the police about the incident, following which a patrol party rushed to the spot and took Sharma to the hospital.“a team was immediately sent to the spot upon receiving the phone call. The patrol party took the injured victim to Kailash Hospital in Jewar, where he was declared brought dead,” Tomar said.
Officials of the management of Kailash Hospital said that Sharma was brought to the hospital after 7am. “We did not admit the victim since he was declared brought dead by our team of doctors. The time of his death was 7.20am. His family members took the body,” a representative of Kailash Hospital said.
The police have been unable to trace the vehicle and are currently trying to ascertain if there was an eyewitness to the incident. “A case has been registered against unknown persons under sections of negligent and rash driving under Indian Penal Code (IPC). We are yet to find out the registration number of the vehicle or its owner. We are collecting close circuit television footage from different points on the Sabota Road. Soon, arrests will be made,” Tomar said.
