IMS Ghaziabad Hosts AICTE-Sponsored National Conference on Artificial General Intelligence & Geopolitics for Sustainable Innovation

Ghaziabad, April 25-26, 2025 : Institute of Management Studies (IMS), Ghaziabad successfully organized a two-day AICTE-sponsored National Conference on “Artificial General Intelligence & Geopolitics: Innovation & Business Sustainability”. The event brought together scholars, researchers, policymakers, and industry leaders from across the country, offering a vibrant platform for interdisciplinary discussion and knowledge exchange.

The conference received an overwhelming response with 170+ research paper presentations and 120+ poster entries, featuring participation from 22+ esteemed institutions across India including Christ University, AMITY University, Sharda University, Four Business Schools, IMT, among others. Participants presented across 11 dedicated tracks in the areas of Marketing, Finance, Human Resource, Operations, and Business Analytics. Over 13 distinguished external session chairs from reputed academic institutions contributed to the technical sessions, enhancing the academic rigor of the event.

The inaugural session on April 25 commenced with Dr. Ajay Kumar Patel, Conference Convener and Dean–Research at IMS Ghaziabad, introducing the theme and the intellectual vision of the conference. Dr. Prasoon M. Tripathi, Director, IMS Ghaziabad and Conference Chair, welcomed the dignitaries and participants, emphasizing the role of Artificial Intelligence in transforming global business dynamics and national growth. He elaborated on how IMS Ghaziabad is actively aligning with technological advancements by integrating AI, machine learning, and analytics into its curriculum. Through specialized programs, faculty training, industry collaborations, and its robust incubation ecosystem, IMS continues to shape future-ready professionals and establish itself as a forward-thinking institution in management education.

Chief Guest Sh. Kunal Jeet Singh, Director (SSSJKL), AICTE, appreciated IMS Ghaziabad’s initiative and spoke about AICTE’s role in fostering innovation and supporting the academic ecosystem. He also touched upon the importance of AGI in policy, industry, and education, and motivated students to stay proactive in learning and adaptation. Guest of Honour CA(Dr.) J.K. Batra, Secretary & CEO, ICAI, New Delhi, shared insights into the role of ICAI in nation-building and offered practical life lessons on management, ethics, and the future of finance in the AI age, leaving the audience inspired and energized.

The Day 1 plenary session, titled “The AGI Race: Balancing Technological Advancement, Geopolitical Stability, Economic Security, and Environmental Sustainability”, featured an esteemed panel comprising Mr. Rahul Agrawal (Executive Director, GMA, Ghaziabad), Mr. Kshitij Sharma (Head – Workforce Planning and Analytics, MOAI – Ericsson), Prof. Rakesh Raut (Professor, IIM Mumbai – online), Mr. Sachin Sharma (Associate Director, KPMG), Ms. Garima Nanduri (CIO & Founder, Pb Financial Services IMF Pvt Ltd), and Dr. Kiran Preet Kaur (Head HR, ShipGlobal.in). The session was moderated by Dr. Dolly Phillips, addressed the strategic balance between innovation, sustainability, and geopolitical foresight.

On Day 2, a second plenary session on “Navigating the Future: Ethical Challenges of Automation, Societal Impacts, and Transformation of Global Labor” drew deep interest from participants. Eminent speakers included Dr. Aseervatham Achary (National Head, BJP Digital Library), Mr. Pratyush Rahul (Head – Campus Hiring & Chief of Staff to Global Head HR & RMG, Tech Mahindra), Prof. Sandeep Jagtap (Professor, Cranfield University, UK – online), Ms. Aditi Gupta (Head HR, Crownstack Technologies), and Dr. Anuja Pandey (Head, India Case Research Centre, AIMA). The session was once again moderated by Dr. Parul Aggarwal, and focused on pressing challenges surrounding automation, the evolving workforce, and ethical leadership in AI-driven economies.

The Valedictory Session and the final segment of the conference on April 26 was graced by a distinguished panel of industry leaders and academic experts. Mr. Aman Lamba, Global Director – Partner Success at Gigamon, served as the Chief Guest, delivering a powerful address on the convergence of AI, strategy, and enterprise growth. Mr. Debopriyo Sadhu, Director at Toshiba, and Mr. Saurabh Agrawal, Head – Strategy & Growth (PSBU) at Tata Consultancy Services, shared valuable insights on the evolving role of AI in driving innovation and competitiveness across industries. Their talks emphasized the need for future managers to embrace agility, cross-disciplinary thinking, and data-driven decision-making. The session concluded with felicitation, conference reflections, and a vote of thanks by the organizing team, celebrating the event’s success and acknowledging the collaborative efforts of faculty, scholars, and industry stakeholders.

Ahead of the main conference, a Pre-Conference Workshop titled “How to Get Published in Quality Journals” was conducted on April 24, 2025, by Ms. Debbie Dhar, Senior Commissioning Editor at SAGE Publications. The workshop provided practical insights and publishing strategies for early-career researchers, academicians, and doctoral scholars.

Adding to the academic impact, selected papers from the conference will be published by leading international publishers including Taylor & FrancisScopus-indexed journalsIGI Global, and AIBPM, reaffirming IMS Ghaziabad’s growing footprint in global academic research.

The successful execution of the event was led by Dr. Prasoon M. Tripathi, Director, IMS Ghaziabad (Conference Chair), and Dr. Ajay Kumar Patel, Dean–Research (Conference Convener), whose leadership and vision were instrumental in shaping this high-impact academic endeavor. The conference once again positioned IMS Ghaziabad as a torchbearer in promoting technology-led, research-oriented management education.
