India and Namibia are far apart but are also very close: DPM Namibia

New Delhi, 23 July 2022: The Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board had organised the Invest in Namibia Reception in New Delhi on 20 July.

At the event, the Deputy Prime Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah encouraged the Indians to invest in Namibia’s economy stating, “Time has come for us to strengthen our economic cooperation for the benefit of the people of our countries. Yes, our countries are far apart but are also very close. We have put all necessary instruments in place that may ease out doing business together. We also welcome the establishment of the India-Namibia Friendship Association, a trade commission and Indian cultural hall in Namibia. Today we are inviting investments to Namibia and we want it to be focused on tourism, agriculture, energy, water, oil and gas, technology, health, education and mining for the economic development of the countries.”

While in her address, Chairperson and CEO of Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board, Nangula Nelulu Uaandja explained the complexities of all the investment-favorable sectors. If the investors are looking forward to other sectors we are open to it as well. Our motive is to facilitate the economic development of both the countries, said Uaandja.

 

The event was graced by the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, High Commissioner of the Republic of Namibia to the Republic of Asia, H.E. Gabriel Sinimbo, Chairperson and CEO of Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board, Nangula Nelulu Uaandja, CEO of Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Charity Mwlya, Dr Gaurav Gupta, Founder President, Global Trade and Technology Council of India among others.
