India GI Fair was an enthralling and unique experience, say visitors
Greater Noida, August 28th, 2022: India’s first Geographical Indications (GI) B2B fair was organized on August 26th at the India Expo Centre and Mart in Greater Noida.
India GI Fair provides unique access to India’s treasure trove and authentic products.
The event aims to connect these invaluable native products, to connoisseurs and clientele of the global market. The country has 390+ GI products out of which 200+ are Handicrafts and Handlooms.
Visitors were pouring in from all over, all of which termed the experience to be very unique and interesting.
Swapnil Tiwari, a collector of Indian artifacts and indigenous products, said “It was a wonderful display of products, primarily handicrafts”. He further noted that unique varieties of agricultural handmade products were showcased as well. “With the advent of modern markets, the GI Fair is a great opportunity to uphold the legacy of these age-old cultures and crafts”, he remarked.
Harshita and Sneha, residents of Noida, lauded the organizers of the exhibition. “We absolutely loved the expo and purchased several things as well”, said Harshita. Sneha further noted that the quality of products is noteworthy.
Vibhash Narg, an food health technologist and founder of three organizations that focus on sustainable technologies, said that the GI Fair was very close to his heart. “This is a very imperative fair because people need to know the value of GI-tagged products and what they represent”.
Sunil Kumar Singh noted that it was the first time that GI-tagged products were being represented on a global platform. “Such a fair was the need of the hour to be aware of the historical legacy of our India”.
With more than 300 exhibitors, India GI Fair is the first and only trade platform of its kind to source inimitable products across India, all under one roof.
