New Delhi (India), April 13, 2023: In a major success for the Indian Army, troops in coordination with the J&K Police shot down a Pakistani drone that was crossing the Line of Control (LoC) from Pakistan into Indian territory.
The incident took place in the Beri Pattan area of the Sunderbani sector in Rajouri, Jammu, and Kashmir. After successfully tracking and bringing down the drone, the army recovered 131 rounds of AK-47, five loaded magazines, and Rs. 2 lakh in cash.
This is not the first time that Indian forces have foiled an infiltration attempt by Pakistan. On April 9, the Indian Army successfully foiled a major infiltration bid in the Poonch sector, where one intruder was killed and two others were captured alive.
The security forces also recovered three bags with 14 packets of narcotics weighing nearly 17kg, notes of Pakistani currency, some documents, and eatables.
The Indian Army has been taking proactive measures to counter Pakistan’s drone aggression. In October last year, the army deployed aqua jammers at the LoC to check Pak drones.
The recent incidents prove that Indian forces are vigilant and equipped to tackle any security challenge posed by Pakistan.
