New Delhi, 7 June 2022: On Tuesday, the Indian para swimmer Mohammad Shams Aalam Shaikh had to wait for 90 minutes for his personal wheelchair, owing to delay caused by Air India, at the Delhi airport.
The Para swimmer Shaikh stated, “I landed with AI 309 at 5 pm at the Delhi Airport. I am a wheelchair user and I informed cabin crew that I need my wheelchair at gate. After an hour, I was still waiting and did not receive my personal wheelchair. I needed to use washroom but no one supported.”
In response to this, Air India asked for another chance and stated, “we understand it took some time to deliver your personal wheelchair as it got delayed due to airport security reasons.”
