India’s exports rise by 2.14 per cent; trade deficit widens to $30 billion

August 12: New Delhi: According to official figures issued on Friday, India’s exports climbed by 2.14 percent year on year to $36.27 billion in July, while imports increased by 43.61 percent to USD 66.27 billion, resulting in an almost three-fold rise in the trade imbalance.

The trade imbalance in India increased from $10.63 billion in July 2021 to USD 30 billion in July 2022.

India’s total exports (merchandise and services combined) are expected to reach $61.18 billion in July 2022, representing an increase of 11.51 percent over the same time last year. Overall imports are expected to reach $82.22 billion in July 2022, representing a 42.90% increase over the same month last year.
