New Delhi, 4th July 2023: Infosys, the Indian IT behemoth, has undergone yet another executive upheaval. This time, top executive Sushanth Tharappan has been chosen to succeed Richard Lobo, the company’s current head of Human Resources.
Furthermore, Lobo, who has been with the Indian IT services firm for over 22 years, will join the special projects team, which is led by the company’s CEO, Salil Parekh.
Lobo graduated from Xavier’s Institute of Management. Manipal Institute of Technology awarded him a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Tharappan’s new responsibilities will include succession planning and executive development.
The executive has been with Infosys since 2000. He held numerous positions within the company throughout the years, including Global Head for Talent Acquisition, Head of HR for Products, Platforms, and Solutions, and Chief People Officer at Edgeverve, among others. Tharappan received his BSc from St Aloysius College and his MBA from Mangalore University.
This is the second shift in the top employees of Infosys’ HR division. Shaji Mathew was appointed as the company’s worldwide head of Human Resources earlier this year. Mathew took over for Krish Shankar, who retired in March. Mathew was previously the head of Infosys’ Mysore centre.
On July 20, the IT services firm will report first-quarter earnings. In the Q4 FY23 earnings call, the business forecasted revenue growth of 4-7 percent for FY 2023-23.
Infosys Chairman Nandan Nilekani stated during the company’s annual general meeting last week that the company is on a “solid foundation.” He also stated that their deal pipeline is “strong,” with the company bagging 95 significant deals totalling $9.8 billion in the previous fiscal year.
During the same meeting, CEO Parekh expressed caution, stating that the general demand environment for IT services has altered as the global economy slows.
