Innovation Meets Healthcare: GL Bajaj Hosts MEDHA 2025 – A 36-Hour Medical Device Hackathon

GREATER NOIDA NEWS (09/10/2025): The MEDHA 2025: Medical Device Hackathon was successfully organized on 7th–8th October 2025 at GL Bajaj Institute of Technology and Management, Greater Noida, in collaboration with the Biomedical Engineering and Technology Incubation Centre (BETiC), IIT Bombay.

This 36-hour innovation marathon brought together over 150 participants from diverse fields, including Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical, Physiotherapy, Medicine, Science, and Pharmacy. The event aimed to bridge the gap between healthcare challenges and engineering innovation through creative problem-solving and collaboration.

The Inaugural Ceremony was graced by S. P. Mishra as the Chief Guest, who motivated students to combine compassion with technology for real-world healthcare impact. The Valedictory Ceremony featured Brigadier Rakesh Gupta, Director, Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), who appreciated the spirit of innovation and interdisciplinary teamwork.

During the hackathon, doctors provided real clinical problem statements, and technical mentors guided participants in designing, prototyping, and developing viable medical device solutions. The jury panel comprised experts from Sharda Hospital, Kailash Hospital, government institutions, and private practitioners, ensuring industry-level evaluation and mentorship.

Selected teams will now advance to the next round at IIT Bombay, showcasing the promising innovations born at GL Bajaj on a national platform.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chairman Pankaj Agarwal said,
