J&K focus state in IHGF Delhi Fair Spring 2018, Over 3000 exhibitors to participate!

Greater Noida – 21ST February, 2018 – The 45th edition of one of the world’s largest handicrafts fair i.e. IHGF-Delhi fair will be opened to overseas buyers as well as domestic volume retail buyers on 23rd February, 2018 at India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida. The five days extravaganza starting from 23rd February will showcase the home, lifestyle, fashion and textiles products by more than 3000+ Indian handicrafts exporters from all across the Country, Rakesh Kumar, ED-EPCH informed.
He further informed that this year’s focus state will be Jammu & Kashmir and over 30 exhibitors dealing in Pashmina, Handicrafts, Wood products etc. will be taking part in this edition.
IHGF-Delhi Fair Spring 2018 is one of its kind fair and this edition will have a comprehensive selection of over 2000 products and more than 300 trend specific design development across 14 product categories such as houseware, home furnishing, furniture, gifts and decoratives, lamps and lighting, Christmas & festive décor, Fashion jewellery & accessories, Spa & wellness, Carpets and rugs, bathroom accessories, garden accessories, educational toys & games, handmade paper products and stationery, leather bags. The exhibition is spread over 1,90,000 sq. mtrs. area.
Renowned wooden handicraft exporter Radhy Shyam Ranga has been designated as the President Fair for this year’s edition. Speaking at the press briefing he said that Delhi Fair has created a niche of itself and may exporters including myself have greatly benefited from the fair.
The visitors profile to the show includes overseas buyers from across the globes who are the wholesalers, distributors, chain stores, departmental stores, retailers, mail order companies, brand owners, buying houses and designers and trend forecasters.
The overseas buyers from over 103 countries including Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Holland, Hong Kong, Italy, Israel, Japan, Korea, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Philippines, Poland, Qatar, Romania, Russia, South Africa, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, USA, UAE, UK and Zimbabwe and many more will be visiting the show.

Fashion shows will also be other key attractions during the five days show.

Prahladka, Chairman – EPCH informed that in order to give wide publicity of the show, the Council has undertaken extensive promotion and publicity campaign all across the globe through advertisements in International magazines, online portals, out door media and road shows at various International shows. Further, Journalists from renowned International magazines from Monthly Gift Premium, Japan and India representative of Gifts & Decorative magazine, have also been invited to see wide range of products on display and to give coverage in their respective magazines.
The Handicrafts exports during the year 2016-17 was Rs.24,392.39 crores with overall 13.15% increase in comparison to last year. However, the exports of handicrafts during 10 months of the current financial year 2017-18 is Rs. 19862.19 crore.
