Telangana, August 22nd, 2022: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday addressed a public meeting in Munugode, Telangana ahead of elections.

Earlier this month, sitting Congress MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy quit Congress and joined the Modi-led BJP party.
Shah had arrived in the afternoon at Begumpet airport and took a chopper to Munugode to participate in the public meeting.

The BJP convener announced during the public meeting that if Reddy wins from Munugode then it will be the beginning of Telangana CM, K. Chandrashekar Rao’s(KCR) downfall.

“Rajagopal Reddy is joining our party which means that this is the beginning of the end for the KCR government. If Reddy wins, KCR’s government will disappear”, said Shah.

Amit Shah also accused the KCR government of not performing its duties because they did not reduce VAT on petrol due to which there has been a spike in inflation in Telangana and they did not celebrate Telangana Liberation Day due to the fear of other parties.

He further promised that if BJP comes to power, Liberation Day would be officially celebrated every year on 17th September.

Shah’s visit to the southern state comes a day after CM Rao went to Munugode to launch his party, TRS’s campaign for the upcoming by-elections.
