NEW DELHI, May 9—Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Ajay Maken said when the Aam Aadmi Party Government called a special session of the Delhi Assembly today, it was expected that corruption charges against Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal and problems faced by the people of Delhi will be discussed. Shri Maken said the issues expected to be discussed in the special session of the Assembly were the CM taking bribe, dengue on the rise, water and power shortage and metro fare hike by 66 percent, but  none of these issues was discussed in the Assembly, as Kejriwal was only diverting public attention from Governance-failure and corruption

Shri Maken said all doubts regarding EVM (Electronic Voting Machine) can be put before the Election Commission of India on 12th May, instead of wasting the precious time of the Assembly, convened at enormous cost to the exchequer.

Shri Maken said Shri Arvind Kejriwal has been rattled by the bribe charge made against him by his sacked Water Minister Shri Kapil Mishra, and  the Special Session of the  Assembly seemed to have been convened to divert the attention of the people from the corruption charges against him.

Shri Maken said the fast eroding popularity of Shri Kejriwal and the AAP party became clearly evident wen the AAP candidate lost his security  deposit in the Rajouri Garden Assembly by-election  where VVPAT plus paper trail were used. Shri Maken said the people have seen through the hollow promises and double-talk of Kejriwal and the AAP leaders, and Kejriwal was adopting desperate diversionary tactics to save his skin. Shri Maken said if any further proof was required of the AAP’s sliding popularity it was seen in the Municipal Corporations of Delhi elections when the AAP, enjoying a brute majority in the Delhi Assembly, could only muster 48 seats out of 270 seats.
