Kejriwal misleading the farmers of Gujarat with lies on MSP : congress

NEW DELHI, October 10, 2022—Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ch. Anil Kumar said that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, along with Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, have been misleading the people of Gujarat that the AAP Government in Punjab was giving MSP (Minimum Support Price) to five crops  (Wheat, Paddy, Cotton, Maize and Moong, out of which Food Corporation of India buys the first three crops on MSP price), but his untruth was was  by the farmers of Punjab, who said  that the State Government did not provide  MSP to any crop, including Moong, which Kejriwal had promised, and as a result, farmers had to sell it  below the MSP price.

Ch. Anil Kumar said that the Kejriwal Government was the first to pass the three anti-farmer black farm Laws, passed by the Modi Government at the Centre, in a bid to bring in big Corporate to the farm sector, and drive out the middle and marginal farmers from the business. He said that the Kejriwal Government in Delhi passed a special session of the Assembly to endorse the laws, and sided with the Modi Government, but the sustained agitation by the farmers, with the full support of the Congress, defeated the designs of Modi and Kejriwal, forcing the Modi Government to withdraw the black Laws, but after many farmers had succumbed during their long agitation under inclement weather.

Ch. Anil Kumar said that before AAP came to power in Punjab, Kejriwal had blamed the farmers of Punjab for Delhi’s rising air pollution, which, he claimed, was on account of stubble burning in the State. He said that Kejriwal has not fulfilled any of his promises given to the farmers of Delhi and Punjab, including financial compensation for crop damages due to rain and  hail storms, yet he was misleading the  Gujarat farmers with false claims. He said that the incessant rains have caused extensive damage to paddy crops, and Kejriwal should distribute financial compensation to the farmers without delay to bail them out of their present crisis.

Ch. Anil Kumar said that Kejriwal has been visiting Assembly-election bound Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat, announcing all sorts of “freebies”, though he had failed to honour his freebie commitment to the people of Delhi and Punjab. He said that one by one, Ministers have been exiting the Kejriwal Government in Delhi due to corruption and other  controversies, the latest being Social Welfare Minister Rajender Pal Gautam, and over 80 per cent Ministers of Delhi have been caught in various cases, but Kejriwal continues to protect his corrupt. He said that Excise Minister Manish Sisodia, who is the king pin of the  Liquor Scam, and jailed Minister Satyender Jain and Transport Minister Kailash Gehlot, enjoy the protection of Kejriwal, as they were all partners in his corruption. He said that Kejriwal spends very little time to attend to the issues of Delhi, and as a consequence, governance has gone haywire in the National Capital.
