Land takeover for Noida International Airport to begin from next week

Greater Noida: The Gautam Budh Nagar administration will start the takeover process of the property earmarked for Jewar international airport and complete the rehabilitation and resettlement process of 1,700 families within a week, officials said.
First the administration will start the acquisition process in areas which is inhabited as max areas are comprises of the same. For now, 1500 crores is been distributed as compensation which is 50 percent of the total amount. Soon the rest of the amount will also be distributed and after which administration will start taking possession of land from owners.
By August 31 administration aims to handover the land to the Noida International Airport Authority so that they can proceed the project further .
Explaining the plan DM BN Singh said that “In the initial phase, we want to acquire large chunk of land that is mostly inhabited, as it’s become easy to acquire them without facing any dispute. Rest of the 20% of the land has human population and six villages also fall under that. This is the same land over which farmers demanding more compensation. People living in this area have to be relocated which will be a lengthy process. A 50-hectare plot on Aligarh road has been identified for the relocation of families from six villages where land will be acquired for the airport.”
While the Arun Veer Singh CEO Yamuna Authority and NIAL, sharing the more details on the project told that “first phase of Airport will be developed parallel to the Yamuna Expressway and will be situated 5.8 Km ahead of Jewar toll plaza.”
