Provision of linking Aadhaar card with PAN was introduced in this year’s budget and voluntarily compliance period for the same will end on Friday.
Saturday onwards it will be mandatory to quote Aadhaar numbers for PAN or filing Income tax returns. Even for those who do not fill income tax returns but hold both Aadhaar card and PAN number are required to link the both.
Only relaxation has been granted to those who do not have one of these cards or have applied for the same.
So as of today you have just two day left to link your Aadhaar number with PAN. If you have done it already its great but for those who couldn’t do it yet, we have simple steps for the same noted down below.
Just follow these easy DIY guidelines and link your Aadhaar cards with PAN as mandated by government.
How to do it:
Linking of Aadhaar with PAN can be done very conveniently through online portal. Visit the income tax e-filing portal at //incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/ and enter your user id and password to access your profile. If you are a new user you can register on the portal by entering basic registration details including PAN, name and date of birth.
Linking Aadhaar with PAN :
Once you are logged into the portal, go to the “Profile Settings” tab. A drop down menu will appear. Click on “Link Aadhaar. As you click on the detail a news form requiring input of basic information will be displayed.
Details That Need to Filled
You need to enter name, date of birth and gender as per PAN records. Thereafter your Aadhaar number and name as per Aadhaar records must be entered correctly. Before the submission of the form one has to also enter the Captcha correctly as displayed at the bottom of the form.
After submitting the Aadhaar details, a success message is displayed confirming the linking of Aadhaar with PAN. A confirmation email is also sent to the registered email id.
