LPU Chancellor Dr Ashok Mittal takes oath as Rajya Sabha MP, says will keep propagating NEP 2020

New Delhi, 2nd May 2022: The recently elected Rajya Sabha Member of the Parliament, Dr Ashok Mittal, Chancellor of Lovely Professional University (LPU) took the oath, on Monday, in New Delhi. The oath swearing ceremony was administered by the Vice President of India, M. Venkaiah Naidu at the Rajya Sabha.

Thanking the Indian Government for the responsibility entrusted to him, LPU Chancellor and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Dr. Ashok Mittal shared, “It’s an honor to accept the responsibilities laid upon me at the upper house of the Parliament of India. I will strive to fulfill the duties delegated to me to the best of my abilities. I will make every possible effort towards progress and development of the country and its people.”

Later on, Dr. Mittal also responded to the Vice President’s calls for making higher education more inclusive and equitable, as education plays a key role in nation-building and creating a prosperous and sustainable global future. Dr Mittal holds that along with his newly assigned parliamentary duties, he will keep on propagating the National Education Policy- 2020, by working on innovative ideas to address the pressing problems of the society and revolutionize the educational scenario of the country.

At the oath ceremony, Dr. Mittal was accompanied by his wife, son, and his brother- Mr. Ramesh Mittal, the Chairman of Lovely Group.

LPU family, comprising thousands of faculty members, staff, and students witnessed the swearing-in ceremony live on the specially erected widescreen at Shanti Devi Mittal Auditorium of the University. Here, Vice Chairman of the Lovely Group Mr. Naresh Mittal, Pro Vice-Chancellors at LPU Prof Dr. Lovi Raj Gupta, and Prof Dr. Sanjay Modi were also present. Mr. Ramesh Mittal, Chairman of the group shared that Dr. Ashok always used to think about the country and the future of Indian youth for which he has reached a needed pedestal. All at LPU also vowed to be on the strenuous ways as laid by Chancellor Dr. Mittal before them for the cause of education.
