Mumbai, July 22, 2023: In a touching gesture of compassion, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has announced his decision to adopt the children who tragically lost both parents in the recent landslide at Irshalwadi village in Raigad district.
The Shiv Sena made this heartwarming announcement, stating that the Chief Minister will become the guardian of these orphaned children aged between 2 to 14 years.
The devastating landslide at Irshalwadi village has claimed the lives of 22 individuals, leaving many families shattered. Among the victims, several children were rendered parentless, facing an uncertain future. In response, CM Eknath Shinde vowed to provide them with a caring and secure environment through the Shrikant Shinde Foundation, an organization run by his son.
The Foundation will take complete responsibility for the children’s education and other needs, ensuring they are not burdened by financial constraints. Each child will be provided with a fixed deposit to support their educational journey, guaranteeing access to a bright future.
The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has been tirelessly conducting search and rescue operations at the landslide-hit site. Despite the challenges, the authorities remain dedicated to finding those who may still be trapped.
