Mumbai (06 March 2025): The Maharashtra government has announced the establishment of a media monitoring centre to analyse news content across print, electronic, and digital media. The initiative aims to track and evaluate both factual and misleading news reports, ensuring accurate information reaches the public.
For this purpose, the government has allocated a budget of ₹10 crore. The centre will systematically collect and analyse news content from various platforms to identify and address the spread of misinformation.
This move is expected to strengthen the state’s efforts in combating fake news and misinformation, promoting responsible journalism, and maintaining the credibility of news dissemination.
