New Delhi, January 21: A 50-year-old man attempted self-immolation near the new building of Supreme Court, Delhi police said on Friday, adding that the man was rushed to the hospital.
The man has been identified as Rajbabu Gupta, an employee at a factory in Noida Sector 128.
Moreover, as per reports, he was taken to the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, where he is recuperating and police is trying to contact his family.
A police officer said, “We received a call around 2.20 pm that a man had tried to self-immolate and that he was stopped by the security personnel. Police rushed to the spot and the victim was taken to hospital,” Indian Express quoted.
Furthermore, an enquiry is underway to find out why Gupta had allegedly attempted to kill himself
The police said that they have suspected some family dispute behind the suicide attempt.
