Man Electrocuted on Treadmill at Delhi Gym; Owner Arrested for Negligence

New Delhi, July 20, 2023: A tragic incident unfolded at a gym in north Delhi’s Rohini, where a 24-year-old man was electrocuted while running on a treadmill. The victim, identified as Saksham Pruthi, a BTech graduate working in Gurugram, lost his life during a routine workout session at Gymplex Fitness Zone in Rohini’s Sector 15.

The incident occurred on Tuesday around 7:30 am when Saksham was running on the treadmill. After completing his workout, he sat down to rest but suddenly collapsed. The gym staff rushed him to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.

Following a postmortem examination, the police confirmed that electrocution was the cause of Saksham’s untimely demise and conveyed the information to the bereaved family.

Expressing her grief, Saksham’s mother alleged negligence on the part of the gym owner, holding them responsible for the tragedy. She narrated that her son had eaten an apple before leaving for the gym at 6 am, and they received the devastating news shortly after.

The police acted promptly, arresting the gym owner on charges of death caused by negligence. The incident has left the family shattered, seeking justice for their beloved son’s tragic and avoidable loss.
