New Delhi, 4 October 2022: Delhiās Deputy Chief Minister, Manish Sisodia claims that the LG Saxena has been seeking inquiries into various matters one after another out of “politically motivated” reasons.
This came after LG Saxena had instructed the Chief Secretary to look into “irregularities and anomalies” in the power subsidy provided by the Aam Aadmi Party government of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and submit a report within seven days.
About three months after he permitted a CBI investigation into Delhi’s liquor policy, in which Mr. Sisodia is an accused party, Mr. Saxena ordered the new investigation.
Deputy CM Sisodia accused LG Saxena of circumventing Delhi’s elected administration and conducting “illegal and unconstitutional” probes, in a letter to the Lieutenant Governor.
Sisodia further stated that “you have no jurisdiction to provide directives in any matter other than land, police, public order, and services.”
Simultaneously, Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, took a dig at the investigation ordered into the AAP’s power subsidy program and claimed it was a BJP effort to thwart the AAP’s growth. Gujarat is liking the free electricity guarantee by AAP. The BJP wants to end free power in Delhi because of this, he claimed.
