The 77th Indian Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and aspiration in the campus of Galgotias University and Galgotias College of Engineering & Technology on Tuesday
On this auspicious occasion, Sunil Galgotia, Chancellor of Galgotias University, while paying homage to the martyrs, said that today the whole nation is saluting those who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of our country.
Remembering the brave martyrs of the country, CEO of the university, Dhruv Galgotia said that today whole country is proud of its brave martyrs. The nation is forever indebted to them for their sacrifices.
In the premises of Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology, the Director General, Group Captain (R) Dr PK Chopra, VSM hoisted the National flag. While addressing the gathering he brought out that it is not necessary to be in the Armed Forces uniform to serve the country. He said that any work done towards the betterment and good of the Nation, in any field with dedication and sincerity is a service to the Nation. He advised the students to utilise their few years in the college in the best way possible so that they become good citizen and contribute towards building a great nation. He shared his experience of the “Kargil War”.
To honour the college topper, Kaushal Kumar, Director General, Gp Capt (R) Dr. P. K. Chopra and Dr. Ansar Anjum, the convenor of the program, got a tree planted by the student, Kaushal. Dr. P K Chopra also distributed gifts to the children from the surrounding slums and prizes to the best class IV employees.
On the other hand, in the premises of Galgotias University, Vice Chancellor Dr. K. Mallikarjuna Babu hoisted the flag. While addressing the students, Mr. Babu said that we all should take inspiration from lives of our brave martyrs and should always maintain a sense of dedication towards our nation. Along with him, Prof. Vice Chancellor Awadhesh Kumar, Registrar Dr Nitin Gaur, Dr. AK Jain and NCC officer Dushyant Rana were also present. In a series of cultural programs, the students did wonderful performances in form of dance and patriotic songs which made the whole atmosphere lively and vibrant.
