New Delhi News (20/09/2025): Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s (Prime Minister Narendra Modi) 75th Birthday (75th Birthday) was celebrated with the launch of ‘A Journey of Inclusive Growth’ at the 103rd Skoch Summit (Skoch Summit) held at Silver Oak, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. The book, authored by Prof. Mahendra Dev, Chairman, Economic Advisory Council to the PM, and presented by Sameer Kochar, reflects on Modi’s journey from Gujarat Chief Minister (Chief Minister) to Prime Minister (Prime Minister) and his vision for a developed India by 2047.
Speaking at the launch, Sameer Kochar said the central theme of the book is rooted in Modi’s track record as the “best serving Chief Minister” of Gujarat. “The Gujarat model, which I have elaborated on in my book, later became the foundation of national development when Modi became Prime Minister in 2014,” he said. According to Kochar, the schemes implemented since then have been sustainable, equitable, and inclusive (Inclusive Growth), paving the way for India to become a developed nation by 2047.
He emphasized that while inclusive growth had been discussed in India for years, Modi was the first Prime Minister to deliver it at the grassroots level. Citing data, he said, “This book documents how 25 crore people have been lifted out of poverty. Schemes like Digital India, Jan Dhan Yojana, and Mudra Yojana opened new opportunities and transformed lives.”
On institutional reforms, Kochar highlighted the transition from the Planning Commission to NITI Aayog and described the creation of the GST Council (GST Council) as a landmark reform. “It was essential to abolish outdated structures and replace them with forward-looking institutions,” he remarked.
Addressing questions on timelines and targets, Kochar said all centrally sponsored schemes have clear timelines and are progressing steadily. “States like Odisha, Kerala, and West Bengal are performing very well. Today, regardless of which party is in power, states are contributing actively to the vision of Viksit Bharat (Developed India).”
Encouraging readers, he concluded, “I would only comment that you must buy and read this book because it is based on authentic data, not political debate.”
