Greater Noida News (13 October 2025): India’s globally acclaimed handicraft industry received another boost as the 60th IHGF Delhi Fair (Autumn) 2025 was inaugurated on Monday at the India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida. The grand event was inaugurated by Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’, Cabinet Minister for Industrial Development, Export Promotion, NRI and Investment Promotion, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
The ceremony was graced by Kapil Mishra, Minister of Law & Justice, Labour, Employment, Development, Art, Culture & Tourism, Government of NCT of Delhi, as the Guest of Honour, and Tarun Rathi, Vice President of the Film Development Council (MoS Rank), Government of UP, and President of Pravasi Sangh (NGO), as the Special Guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Chairman of India Expo Mart, highlighted that more than 3,250 exhibitors and over 1,000 members of the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) are participating in this edition. He stated, “Gone are the days when India had to undergo multiple tests before its products could enter global markets. Today, the world is welcoming us as a natural partner — and Russia is emerging as a major destination for Indian handicrafts.”
Dr. Kumar also mentioned the launch of a book titled “How to Do Business with Russia,” designed to guide Indian artisans and exporters in tapping new trade opportunities. He added, “Even after 60 successful editions, the fair continues to feel new and vibrant — thanks to the commitment and leadership of our Chairman, Neeraj Khanna.”
He further shared that Indian delegations attending various European trade fairs in August and September found strong recognition for Indian craftsmanship and innovation. “Foreign buyers are now confident that India is showcasing products of new design, new quality, and new market potential,” he said.
This edition also introduces collaborative efforts and modern distribution models, including ‘Expo Bazar’ and ‘Cash & Carry’, aimed at transforming the way Indian handicrafts reach markets in the USA, Europe, and Russia.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from artisans, exporters, designers, and international buyers from across the globe, reaffirming India’s growing stature in the global handicrafts trade.
