India, (4/12/2018): It is said that when nature takes away some natural power from a person, it compensates the person with giving some more power. This applies to most of the differently abled people. Most probably because of this fact only they are called “differently abled”. Every year world disability day is celebrated on 3rd December. This year also it was celebrated by different organisations in different sessions.
NHPC, India’s premier hydro power company celebrated World Disability Day with great enthusiasm on 3rd December 2018. Shri Balraj Joshi, CMD, NHPC was the chief guest on the occasion. Shri N.K. Jain, Director (Personnel) NHPC was also present on the occasion. While addressing the gathering, Shri Joshi acknowledged the hard work and efforts of the differently abled employees of NHPC. He commended them on their contribution and said that nothing is impossible to achieve once you have set your mind to the task. He also cited the examples of prominent personalities as Hellen Keller, Stephen Hawking, Stevie Wonder, Arunima Sinha amongst others, who had overcome various challenges in their lives and contributed profusely to their chosen fields. During the programmed special presentations highlighting the achievements of the differently abled personnel of the Corporation were also given. CMD, NHPC and Director (Personnel) also presented Mementos to various differently abled employees for their outstanding services to the corporation. The programme had been organized by Divyang Employees (NHPC) and Parent Association for special need children. NHPC is well known for taking such initiatives on different occasions.
