Nitish Kumar meets Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi, seeks opposition unity

Delhi, Sept 7th,2022: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar met with his Delhi counterpart Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday, calling for opposition unity against BJP in the 2024 elections.

Kumar is currently on a three-day visit to Delhi with the aim of meeting and discussing strategies with leaders of other parties to unite forces.
The Bihar CM also met with Congress leader, Rahul Gandhi on Monday during which they discussed the political situation in the country and the upcoming elections.

Kumar met with Kejriwal at the latter’s residence and the two leaders discussed various issues, including attempts by the Modi-led party to topple opposition governments, inflation, and unemployment. The meeting went on for about 90 minutes.

Kejriwal tweeted after the meeting, “Thank you so much Nitish Ji for visiting my residence. Many serious issues related to the country were discussed – education, health, Operation Lotus, blatant attempts by these people (BJP leaders) to poach MLAs and topple governments elected by the people, unchecked corruption in BJP governments, inflation, and unemployment”.

Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia and Member of Bihar Legislative Council Sanjay Kumar Jha were also present at the meeting.

Later in the day, Kumar also met former Haryana Chief Minister and INLD supremo, Om Prakash Chautala.

In most of these meetings, Kumar advocated that opposition parties come together for the 2024 general elections and reiterated that he has no prime ministerial ambition.
