Noida Farmer’s Daughter wins Silver Medal at International Basketball Championship held in Abu Dhabi

Noida, (24/3/2019): In India, cricket is the most watched, played an loved sport. While on the hand if we combine the popularity of each and sport played in India, it apparently will be much less than the popularity of cricket.
Amidst the cricket crazy country many sportsmen of other sports has achieved some heights in their respective sports, and now sports authorities of India are taking good care of other sports as well, to enhance the talents and to give exposure to sportsmen of other fields than cricket.
Resulting which, a girl named Arushi Sharma, residence of Sadarpur village in Noida, won a silver medal at International Basketball Championship held in Abu Dhabi from March 14 to 20. She won this medal in under 19 category.
She is in 12th class of Mata Bhagwati Chaddha Niketan School in Noida. Her father is farmer and mother a housewife, and hails from Bulandshahr. According to them Arushi has developed interest in basketball in 2010 and starts playing the game. From there she played at state level then National level from 2014 and now in International level. “We are very happy because of the talent she have and medal she has won on an international level, she made us proud”.
Ten News team talked to Arushi Sharma in which she said, “I have been practicing from last 1 year for this tournament and i thank my parents for the support they have given and mostly to my coach who have been a mentor and a true guide in my life. At first i developed interest in basketball in 2010 and from there i used to practice a lot despite my studies, my parents never stopped me from giving more focus on sports instead they supported me and because of that support i am able to win a Silver Medal in an International Championship. Now i am preparing myself to win a Gold for my parents and my country”.
