Noida-Greater Noida Metro sets new record of 50,000 daily riders
Noida, 18th October, 2022: The Noida-Greater Noida Metro has set a new record by reaching 50,000 daily riders for the first time yesterday.
According to the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC), the milestone number of 50,231 was reached on Monday (October 17). The previous single-day high ridership figures were recorded on October 14 (48,852) and September 26 (48,396).
The Aqua Line connects Noida Sector 51 to Greater Noida Depot Station via 29.7 kilometres and 21 stations and it costs Rs 5,503 crore to build.
NMRC MD Ritu Maheshwari attributed the increased footfall on the Aqua Line to the NMRC’s “high-performance standards,” punctuality, and reliability. “With a customer-friendly approach, the NMRC has provided safe, reliable, and quality services to customers,” she added further.
However, for locals, one of the Aqua line’s major shortcomings has been its lack of interconnectivity with the Delhi Metro’s Blue Line.
“In just three years and eight months, the NMRC has reached a cumulative ridership figure of two crore and twelve lakhs, which is a proud moment for everyone associated with Noida Metro,” Ritu Maheshwari stated.
