Noida Shooting Incident: Its not a case of encounter but personal enmity, says Noida Police!
Noida: After taking office last year, responding to criticism that BJP government failed to check crime rate in the state, Under UP CM Yogi Adityanath, The state police have been on a violent crackdown with over 920 encounters where 31 criminals were gunned down, as of February 2018.
On Saturday, A family in Uttar Pradesh has claimed that one of their relatives was shot wrongfully in a “fake encounter” carried out by the state’s police. A sub-inspector in Noida shot at two men in Noida on Sunday night, which the victim’s family claimed was “without any reason”. The victim is in a critical state and undergoing treatment at a private hospital.Sub-inspector Vijay Darshan allegedly accosted 25-year-old Jitendra Yadav and his friend Sunil near Noida Sector 122 police chowki while they were returning from a wedding.
Union Minister Mahesh Sharma visited Fortis Hospital to see the victim. Speaking to Media Dr Mahesh Sharma Said, “I have told the family we will file a case and make sure that it is an unbiased investigation. The guilty will be given due punishment.”
Noida SSP Love Kumar said, “I have ordered investigation in the case and prima facie it seems to be a case of personal enmity. FIR has been written against the Sub inspector and he has been arrested. The 4 policemen have been suspended with immediate effect. We have seized service revolver of the sub-inspector who fired the gun shots and sent him to jail.”
