On Republic day, 26 Delhi Police Personnel Awarded Medals for Bravery and excellence in service

New Delhi (India), 26th Jan 2023: On Wednesday, the Delhi Police announced that 26 personnel of the force had been awarded medals for their service on the occasion of Republic Day.

Seven officers have been awarded the Police Medal for Gallantry (PMG). These include Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Lalit Mohan Negi, Inspector Pradeep Kumar (now ACP), Sub Inspectors Sunder Gautam, Shamsher Singh, and Raghuveer Singh, and Assistant Sub Inspectors Manoj Bhati and Shajad Khan.

On February 17, 2020, the Special Cell, led by ACP Negi, intercepted a motorcycle. The criminals fired at the police squad, and bullets hit ACP Negi and the three sub-inspectors. Despite being injured, they managed to catch the criminals and disarm them.

In addition to the seven PMG medals, two President’s Police Medals for Distinguished Service and seventeen Police Medals for Meritorious Service have also been awarded.
