New Delhi (29/01/2020): Continuous protests are being staged across the country against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC).
In one such protest at Jantar Mantar today, the social activist and screenwriter Tapan Bose, said, that neighboring country Pakistan is not our enemy. The armies of both countries are the same.
Tapan Bose said, “Pakistan is not an enemy country, the ruling class of India and Pakistan is the same. Our armies are also the same, their army kills their people and our army kills our people, there is no difference between them.”
A large number of protesters, including Muslim women, reached Jantar-Mantar today and sat on protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), National Register of Citizens (NRC) and National Population Register (NPR).
During the protest, social activist Tapan Bose interacted with Ten News and passed a controversial statement about the Indian Army. He said that Pakistan is not an enemy country. The ruling class is the same whether it is from India or Pakistan. Our Sena is also like the Pakistani Army. Pakistani army also kills people and ours too. There is no difference between the two.

A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking to instruct the officials to carefully monitor the content and speeches of political leaders and prominent speakers in the ongoing protests on the Kalindi Kunj-Shaheen Bagh road, so that hatred against the central government can be stopped, especially those which speak on partition of India.
This petition has been filed by advocate Amit Sahni. He has already filed a petition against the closure of Kalindi Kunj-Shaheen Bagh road. In the new petition, Sahni also referred to the provocative speeches of JNU student Sharjeel Imam on which a case of treason has been registered.
