Parental consent not mandatory for offline classes & exams in Delhi

New Delhi, March 1: After the Delhi Disaster Management Authority lifted all the Covid curbs in the Capital, the Delhi government said the consent of parents for attending offline classes/exams will not be mandatory for students of classes 10 and 12.

Directorate of Education, Delhi on Tuesday issued a circular to stating consent of parents for attending offline classes/exams will not be mandatory for students of classes 10 and 12.

However, the hybrid mode of classes & exams i.e offline as well as online will continue as earlier for classes up to 9th grade and for class 11th grade till 31-03-2022 in schools. All classes may go offline from April 1, 2022.

“Consent of parents for attending offline classes/ exams will not be mandatory for students of classes X and XII. Schools may also deploy transportation facilities for the convenience of students and parents with Covid-appropriate behaviour as notified from time to time,” the circular stated.

Earlier on Friday last week, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced the withdrawal of all restrictions by DDMA as the situation improves and people facing hardships due to loss of jobs

“Schools to function fully offline from 1 April; Fines for not wearing masks reduced to Rs 500; All should continue following Covid Appropriate Behaviour. Govt will keep strict watch.” Kejriwal said in a tweet.
