PM Modi inaugurates first greenfield airport in Arunachal Pradesh

Arunachal Pradesh, Nov 19, 2022: On November 19, 2022, PM Modi inaugurated the new Donyi Polo Airport, Arunachal Pradesh’s first greenfield facility.

The airport is situated at Hollongi, around 15 km from the State capital Itanagar. It will serve as a link between the border state and other Indian cities via commercial flights as well as other parts of Arunachal Pradesh through helicopter services.

“A new dawn of development for the Northeast! Launching connectivity & energy infrastructure projects in Arunachal Pradesh,” said PM Modi in a tweet.

While addressing the gathering at the airport, PM Modi said, “Connectivity and energy infrastructure will bring a new dawn of development for the northeastern region.”

Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju and Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu were present on the occasion.
