New Delhi, 3rd July 2023: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit Kashi on July 7 as part of his intended tour of his parliamentary constituency Varanasi. According to a report released by the news agency ANI, PM Modi will gift many schemes totalling approximately 3,000 crores for various projects in the city during his visit.
The Yogi government is putting together a list of all the projects that will be dedicated to Kashi. According to an official release, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently evaluated the status of construction activities in the city.
PM Modi is also scheduled to lay the groundwork for the repair and reconstruction of Manikarnika Ghat, Kashi’s salvation site. Cremation at Manikarnika Ghat is thought to open the door for salvation. Lord Shiva himself appears on this ghat to bestow the Tarak Mantra on the soul.
According to ANI, the Yogi government is on a quest to make the crematorium at Manikarnika Ghat, one of the country’s most iconic sites, modern, accessible, and comfortable for the deceased.
The rehabilitation of Manikarnika Ghat will be funded through the CSR fund( A CSR fund is a type of fund that is used to support corporate social responsibility initiatives), for which approval has been obtained from the National Mission for Clean Ganga. This would also beautify Manikarnika Kund, Ratneshwar Mahadev Temple, and other locations.
According to the agency, the building from Manikarnika Ghat to Tarakeshwar Temple would be built in Nagara style. Three storeys will be built until Tarakeshwar Mahadev Temple and three storeys from Tarakeshwar Mahadev to Dattatreya Paduka.
Shyamlal, chairman of Planner India Company, which is planning and designing the renovation and restoration of Manikarnika Ghat, stated that the Ghat and adjacent historical buildings and temples will cost 17.56 crores. According to ANI, the Rupa Foundation is also ready to get it done using the CSR fund.
