Prime Minister’s former secretary inducted as minister in UP cabinet

Uttar Pradesh (25/03/2022): Former Senior Member of Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Arvind Kumar Sharma on Friday took oath as a Minister in the CM Yogi Adityanath led Uttar Pradesh Cabinet.

Sharma in January 2021 had taken retirement and soon after joined BJP.

He has worked with Prime Minister Narendra Modi for 18 years, and he is also referred to as ‘Modi’s Man’ in political circles.

Sharma was sent to Uttar Pradesh during the second wave of COVID-19 to manage the relief work in Varanasi, PM Modi’s Parliamentary constituency.

Currently, he is a member of the legislative council of the state. Sharma served as Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s secretary before joining the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) as a joint secretary after 2014.
