PV Sindhu on her biopic: ‘Deepika perfect to the play the lead role’

Badminton star PV Sindhu wants Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone to play the lead role in an upcoming biopic based on her life. There have been talks about producing a film depicting the badminton player’s life by actor turned producer Sonu Sood.

Almost two years ago, while making an announcement of making the biopic, Sonu Sood had said, “When Sindhu won the Olympic medal, I thought of making a biopic on her and started researching. Reading about her journey -she would travel 50 km daily to the badminton camp from her home to practise -I was motivated to make this film.”

Now it seems the project will come to life as there have been reports about how Depika will perfectly fit the role of Sindhu as she knows the game well. In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, the ace badminton player had said, “Would definitely want Deepika Padukone to play the character. She had played the game and is a good actor too. But then, the makers would take the final decision.”

Moreover, it was also reported that Akshay Kumar might play the role of the coach Pullela Gopichand in the biopic, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

PV Sindhu has recorded yet another historic win for India at the Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Championships last month. She won a gold medal this time and shut all her critics. It was for the first time that an Indian player won gold at the Championship. This win was indeed a special one for her and Sindhu was visibly emotional after her win.

During an interaction with the media after winning gold, ace-player had said, “This win has given me a lot of confidence. It was overwhelming to receive so many messages from people… I want to continue making everyone proud.”
