Mumbai (India), 26th March 2023: The box office performance of Anubhav Sinha’s most recent film, which stars Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar, has been underwhelming . In the movie, a number of characters are shown surviving the initial phases of the Covid-19 pandemic-induced nationwide lockdown in 2020.
The film disappointed audiences on opening day, earning only Rs. 15 lakhs, and its collection stayed drab on day two, earning 0.65 crore. The movie confronted stiff competition from Hollywood’s John Wick, which is doing better, with a current tally of 1.15 crore.
Even the recently released films Tu Jhooti Main Makkaar and Mrs. Chatterjee Vs. Norway are doing better than Bheed in terms of collections at the box office.
The movie, which also stars Kritika Kamra, Ashutosh Rana, Pankaj Kapur, and Dia Mirza, centres on the plight of migrant labourers who returned to their hometowns from cities during the first coronavirus lockdown. Before the film’s release, some social media fans also called it “anti-India.”
