Ranveer Singh gears up to conquer his throne in Karan Johar’s Takht

New Delhi (16/09/2019): Superstar Ranveer Singh is gearing up to conquer the throne once again in his upcoming film Takht. The actor was spotted along with co-star Alia Bhatt at Dharma Productions office for a pre-talk with Karan Johar.

After what seemed like a fruitful day at the office, the actor posed together with Karan and ace designer Manish Malhotra for a few selfies.

Alia Bhatt had recently shared a glimpse of her prep session with filmmaker and mentor Karan Johar on Instagram. She had posted a boomerang video in which Karan was seen discussing the film in front of her and she was holding a red coffee mug with Takht written over it. Presumably, Karan was in conversation with Ranveer whom Alia was trying to hide with her cup.

Actor Alia Bhatt has already started working out for the film and also shared a video of herself lifting weights. She completed 10 sets of 50-kilo deadlifts and also did the two-feet box jump 50 times as part of her one gym session.

According to some sources, the film might go on floors a little earlier than the scheduled date as Alia has her dates open since Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Inshallah has been shelved.

In a candid conversation with Neha Dhupia on No Filter Neha, Karan has revealed his plans about the film in detail. He had said, “It’s something that I’ve always chased and wanted to kind of put up there and finally when Sumit Roy, the writer, came to me with the story of Dara and Aurangzeb, which is pretty much the first time I’m saying that what Takht is about. I think it is that part of history that I’m so passionate about. I can’t wait to get into the prep mode which I’ve already started off.”

Takht will be a comeback film for Karan in filmmaking three years after the release of ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’. Set in the Mughal era, the film features an ensemble act including Vicky Kaushal, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Anil Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar and Jahnvi Kapoor.
