Religious fanaticism on rise, BJP making Hindu State:Padma Vibhushan Fali Nariman, Former ASG of India

(16/04/2017) New Delhi : Ten News exclusively spoke with Senior Supreme Court lawyer and eminent Indian jurist Fali Nariman on the sidelines of an India Against Corruption event.
Being straight forward as ever Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan awardee Fali Sam Nariman talked about need of electoral reform and how it can only happen through a public movement.

He also said that India is currently moving toward religious fanaticism and ruling party of India, namely BJP is making it a Hindu State. He also said that it is the majority which has voted them to power so it is fine but the fact that BJP is bringing religion into politics is a worrisome precedence.
Fali Sam Nariman was additional solicitor general of India during 1972 to 1975 and he resigned when Indira Gandhi declared emergency.
Fali Nariman has fought several important cases of Indian judicial history such and had also once represented Union Carbide in Bhopal Gas Tragedy.
In recent years he had also appeared in court of Late Tamil Nadu CM J Jayalalitha in a conviction case and obtained bail for her which was previously rejected.
Fali has also represented Gujarat government in Narmada rehabilitation case.
Around a fortnight ago he wrote an article for The Indian Express titled ‘we are moving towards Hindutva of Savarkar’ which was hugely debated on various social media platform.
