Residents cheer battery-operated rickshaws in Noida

The introduction of battery-operated rickshaws in Noida has come as a great relief for short-distance commuters, allowing them to forgo the usual fare haggling with auto-drives and opt for a smoother travel.

These battery-powered rickshaws have been scheduled to ply between Sector 15 and Sector 37only, along the main road connecting Sector 15 and Botanical Garden Metro stations. However, they are yet to enter sectors.

Residents of Noida have long been waiting for the introduction of battery-powered rickshaws . A few residents’ organizations had previously demanded for these rickshaws to ease short distance travel from Metro stations to other parts of the citymuch like the norm at several Delhi Metro stations.
