RRR team Spent upwards of ₹83 crore for Golden Globes, Oscars Campaign

New Delhi (India), 5th March 2023: It has been reported that SS Rajamauli’s RRR has spent a whopping 83 crores for their campaign to get nominations from the Golden Globes and the Academy Awards.

RRR is unarguably the most famous and internationally acclaimed movie of the recent times. The Ram Charan, Jr NTR starter movie did not just do wonders at the box office but also won the hearts of multiple critics across the globe.

Recently it defeated Tom Cruise’s Top Gun Maverick and won the Best Action Film Award at the Hollywood Critics Association Awards. However, it has recently come to light that RRR wasn’t officially nominated by India for the Oscars. Therefore Rajamauli decided to independently nominate the movie.

The campaigning expenses that rounded upto ₹83 crores came from Rajamauli’s personal account and only a small portion was taken out of its box office revenue. Now the movie is nominated at the Golden Globes. In an extremely proud moment the movie is also nominated under the Best Song category for ‘Naatu Naatu’.

Singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava are set to perform the ‘Naatu Naatu’ song at the 95th Oscar Awards ceremony, which will be held at Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, on March 12, Sunday.
