Mumbai, (14/05/2023): IRS officer Sameer Wankhede, who headed the Narcotics Control Bureau’s action against Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son was arrested, had his residence raided by the CBI officials.
Wankhede faces alleged bribery charges for over INR 25 crore in return for not framing Khan’s son, Aryan Khan, in last year’s drugs case.
CBI officials booked Wankhede and three others in this corruption case and believed that out of the INR 25 crore, over INR 50 lakh was exchanged between the parties.
Wankhede issued a statement to the press and alleged that he acquired the assets before joining the service and added, ‘I am getting rewarded for being a patriot.’
