School of Agriculture, Galgotias University hosts landmark Sustainability Conclave

School of Agriculture, Galgotias University, in collaboration with IPL, hosted a landmark Sustainability Conclave themed “Productivity and Green Growth,” which gathered leading experts in agriculture, sustainability, and rural development to address the future of sustainable farming practices.

The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. CP Reddy, Senior Additional Commissioner from the Ministry of Rural Development, who served as the Chief Guest, and Padma Dr. VP Singh, a renowned Plant Breeder, as the Guest of Honour.

Prominent Progressive Farmers, including Padma Manoj Tyagi, Dharampal Tyagi, Raj Kumar Sangwan, and Baljeet Singh, were also in attendance, sharing their insights and experiences in sustainable farming practices.

During the first technical session, notable experts such as Dr. Rajeev Ranjan (Retd IAS), Founding Director ICRO; Dr. US Teotia, Chief Manager-Agri Sciences, IPL; Dr. RS Bana, Principal Scientist, ICAR-IARI; Dr. Sunil Kumar, Director, IIFSR; Dr. Raghvendra Singh, Head CSRM, IIFSR; Dr. PK Sahoo, Principal Scientist, ICAR-IARI; Dr. Praveen Upadhyay, Senior Scientist, ICAR-IARI; Ashok Wadhwan, Innovator and Entrepreneur; and Dr. PK Singh, Director Extension, SVPUAT, delved into topics on sustainable agriculture, organic farming, and climate-resilient practices.

The second technical session saw further discussions led by Dr. Mukesh Sehgal, Principal Scientist, NCIPM; Dr. Kusumakar Sharma, Distinguished Professor, SOAG; Dr. Ram Vilad Paswan, National President, AIASA; and Dr. Ninaad Mahajan, General Secretary, AIASA and Dr Ashish Khandelwal, Scientist, ICAR-IARI. The session explored integrated pest management, eco-friendly practices in animal husbandry, and sustainable agricultural methods.

Students from Galgotias University had the opportunity to present their research and innovations through a poster session, with the most impactful presentations being awarded certificates during the plenary session.

A session on Farmer’s awareness was also conducted where farmers put forward their questions to the scientists and there queries were resolved.

The conclave concluded with closing remarks from Dr. Rajeev Ranjan, IAS (Retd), Founding Director of ICRO, who emphasized the urgent need for adopting sustainable farming practices for a greener and more resilient agricultural future.
