New Delhi: The amazing cast of an upcoming Indian drama film Batti Gul Meter Chalu, Shahid Kapoor & Shraddha Kapoor came together in Nation’s Capital to promote their film. The event took place at Hotel Le Meridien in New Delhi . Both the talented actors were highly excited and confident about the film which tells the story of electricity theft in rural India.
Batti Gul Meter Chalu is directed by Shree Narayan Singh and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Nishant Pitti and Krishan Kumar. It stars Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Divyendu Sharma, and Yami Gautam in lead roles.
Speaking to Media, Talented Actor, Shahid Kapoor said,
“It is a little sad story. For six months, I had stayed in these houses which had those asbestos roofs. I had that time in life for six months and we had to live there. And there would be power cuts. In the afternoon, it is used to so hot that we used to be sitting in the house sweating.”
Gorgeous Shraddha Kapoor said,
“Well with the film being inspired by real events, Shree Narayan Singh and writers Garima and Siddharth did extensive research to do justice to the story. Since it is set in Uttarakhand, the dialogues are laced with Garhwali, one of the dialects of the state. In a bid to retain authenticity, not only was the film shot in Tehri, but every actor was made to take lessons in the language.”
The film is scheduled to release on 21 September 2018.
