New Delhi (02/09/2025): Tree Plantation Drive & Water Cooler Installation Serve as a Step Towards a Healthier Tomorrow.
In an era where rising temperatures and escalating pollution are urgent public concerns, even modest initiatives—like installing a water cooler or planting a sapling—can make a lasting impact. Acknowledging the pressing need for clean drinking water and a greener environment, Shiv Shakti Sewa Mandal, based in Malviya Nagar, has undertaken a commendable public welfare initiative aimed at enhancing the well-being of the local community.
During the sweltering summer months, daily wage earners such as masons, rickshaw pullers, and metro commuters often lack access to safe drinking water. Forced to rely on unhygienic sources, they become vulnerable to waterborne diseases—further jeopardizing their health and livelihoods. For many, even a basic bottle of clean water is a luxury they cannot afford.
Meanwhile, environmental degradation and air pollution continue to challenge urban life. Trees—often called the “green lungs” of our planet—not only provide shade but also help purify the air by absorbing pollutants and releasing life-sustaining oxygen.
Addressing both these urgent needs, the members of Shiv Shakti Sewa Mandal, Malviya Nagar organized a tree plantation drive at Bhagat Singh Park, and installed a RO-fitted water cooler outside the Malviya Nagar Police Station. These efforts reflect the organization’s enduring commitment to selfless service and community upliftment.
The day’s humanitarian outreach also featured a Langar Prasad Sewa, a monthly tradition that the organization has continued with devotion, offering free meals to all in a spirit of equality and compassion.
