Society for the Upliftment of National Arts of India to host Indradhanush Dilli – A festival of Arts
New Delhi: Entering into its 25th year SUNAINA – Society for the Upliftment of National Arts of India is going to host 11th edition of India’s most popular festival of Art & Dance – Indradhanush Dilli 2019 – A festival of Arts from 7th to 12 November 2019 at multi venue in Delhi.
Started in 2008 a brain child of its president Guru Kanaka Sudhakar – a senior Bharatanatyam Artiste herself-Indradhanush Dilli a 100 hour – 6 days long festival has much to offer to the art loving public in the sense that one can view three generations of Artists – talented children in tough competitions in 18 Art forms, Youth professional choreographers churning out innovative choreographies in Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Odissi and Contemporary Ballet and celebrated artists Geeta Chandran and Bharati Shivaji bring out mesmerizing performances .
The festival starts off with a seminar “FACETS OF ART” on the first day by the senior research scholarship holders of Sahitya Kala Parishad New Delhi. As is the tradition of this festival Geetanjal lal, Santosh Nair, Seetha Nagajothy and Dr. T V Manikandan will be awarded the Prestigious GURU SAMMAN AWARD for their invaluable contribution to Kathak, Chau, Kuchipudi and Carnatic Music respectively and PARAS MANI AWARD will be conferred to Dr. Alpana Nayak for her remarkable training to disabled children in Odissi.
The KALA DHWANI on the last day will showcase child prodigies in Dance before the grand prize distribution ceremony.
Calendar of Events:
7th November 2019 at Muktadhara Auditorium Bhai Vir Singh Marg. 6pm onwards. Seminar followed by GURU SAMMAN and performances of Padmashri Geeta Chandran (Bharatanatyam), Abhimanyu Lal & Vidha Lal (Kathak) and the senior students of Nrityabharati (Bharatanatyam).
8th November 2019 at Muktadhara Auditorium Bhai Vir Singh Marg . 6pm onwards. GURU SAMMAN AND PARAS MANI Samman followed by performances by Padmashri Bharati Shivaji (Mohiniattam), Abhinaya Nagajothi (Kuchipudi), Rateesh Babu and Sandhya Manoj (Kuchipudi & Odissi), Sudip Chakraborty (Kathak) and Dance Culture Performing Arts Academy (Contemporary).
9th ,10th 11th November 2019: 9am onwards Classical dance competitions by selected children. Venue – Sabari Mandap Ayyappa Temple, Sector 2 R.K. Puram.
10th November 2019: 9am onwards Music and Instrumental competitions
11th November 2019: 9 a.m onwards Classical and folk and Bollywood competitions at Delhi Tamil Sangam RK, Puram Sector 5
11th November 2019: 9 a.m onwards Folk and Bollywood solo and duet and drama competitions
12th November 2019: 4 p.m onwards : KALA DHWANI – classical dance by 4 selected child prodigies followed by GRAND PRIZE DISTRIBUTION.
