Sports & Cultural Event held at ITS College of Pharmacy

The 4th Annual Sports & Cultural events was held at I.T.S College of Pharmacy in Ghaziabad on 11th & 12th December, 2024, with the kind support and active participation of Dr. R.P. Chadha, Chairman and Arpit Chadha, Vice Chairman, I.T.S-The Education Group. We are obliged of their constant encouragement to students to engage in extracurricular activities and sports. They emphasized that involvement in extracurricular activities fosters the development of teamwork, focus, discipline, dedication, and athletic abilities in youngsters.

The Annual Fest began on December 11, 2024 (Day 1), with a spectacular Sports Extravaganza that saw enthusiastic participation from students of D. Pharm, B. Pharm, and M. Pharm. The event showcased their athletic skills and unwavering spirit. The grand celebration was inaugurated by Dr. S. Sadish Kumar, Director, I.T.S College of Pharmacy, who officially opened the fourth annual sports meet at the main field at 9:30 a.m. He expressed gratitude to the faculty coordinators for their support and encouragement and urged students to uphold the spirit of sportsmanship. He also asked the students to participate in sports with enthusiasm, endurance and full of energy. Based on the students’ preferences, the department planned a range of sporting activities for them to partake in on this particular day. Cricket, volleyball, chess, badminton, table tennis, tug of war, shot-put, carom, and 100-meter race were among them. The winners of each event were declared shortly after they concluded. At the end of the day, students were beaming with joy since they had all enjoyed the activities and were filled with enthusiasm, compassion, and wonderful memories.

On December 12, 2024, cultural programs opened off Day 2 of the Annual Fest. Around 250 D. Pharm, B. Pharm, and M. Pharm students participated enthusiastically in a variety of activities, such as contests for solo singing, solo dancing, tattoos, rangoli making, mehendi, and T-shirt painting. The program began with a lamp-lighting ceremony after lunch. Dr. S. Sadish Kumar, Director, I.T.S College of Pharmacy heartily welcomed all the guests, faculties and students in the grand celebration of sports and cultural fest. He also appreciated the event co-ordinators for their efforts throughout the event. He emphasized the importance of determination and punctuality in sports for a joyous, high sportsmanship and cultural festivities. He encouraged the students about their involvement that had made the celebration truly fruitful as they showcased diverse talent, with resilience and perseverance taught by teachers. He heartily welcomed the guests of the day with Memento & Good luck plant to Mr. Navneet Singh, Silver Medalist-CWG 2022, Birmingham, England and Dr. Arun Tyagi, Technical Advisor, Kho-Kho federation of India.

Mr. Navneet Singh felt honoured and privileged to be at I.T.S College of pharmacy. He talked to students on his views about hard work in education as studying and sports, hand in hand is quite difficult to pursue. He clarified the youngsters that with continuous participation along with punctuality, discipline, consistency, anything important can be achieved in life. He urged the students for teamwork and appreciated the mentors and teachers for their support to students. At the end he asked the youngsters not to quit any situation and always focus on their energy to be successful in life.

Dr. Arun Tyagi emphasised the value of games and medicine as they have an unbreakable relationship. As a pharmacist the students must discover steroid free drugs. He underlined that a player should always be optimistic as participation is important. Finally, he quoted that participation and winning makes the nation proud and expressed his gratitude to the faculty, staff, and management of I.T.S-The Education Group.

The 2-day fest was well coordinated by Mr. Gaurav Chaudhary (Asst. Prof.) along with Ms. Bhumika Chauhan (Asst. Prof.), Mr. Chaitanya Vinayak Narayan (Asst. Prof.), Mr. Shubhdeep Yadav (Asst. Prof.), Mr. Ritik Saxena (Asst. Prof.), Mr. Shubhanshu Goel (Asst. Prof.), Mr. Gaurav Veerbhan (Sports Officer), Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma (Prof.) other event coordinators / committee as well and made this a huge success. The program was smoothly anchored by Ms. Swati Verma (Asst. Prof.) and Mr. Ritik Saxena (Asst. Prof.). The students enthusiastically participated in various events under the direction of the instructors, who also acted as event coordinators. The athletic and cultural winners received 165 medals and 23 trophies from Mr. Navneet Singh, Dr. Arun Tyagi, Dr. S. Sadish Kumar and other faculty members. The event ended with vote of thanks by Mr. Shubhdeep Yadav (Asst. Prof.).
